Could be softer for the money.
For the thread count and the material, I was expecting a softer product. Regardless, these are decent sheets for the price, and hopefully will soften up with repeated washing. The best thing about them in my opinion is they keep cool during the night. They don't seem to retain heat as much as some cotton blends.

Surprised by the scratchiness of the sheets
My wife and I bought these to replace our 800 count sheets which were starting to fray. To our surprise the sheets weren't anywhere near as soft as the sheets we had just given up. At first we thought that this might be due to an over use of starch on the manufacturers part, but after several washes the sheets haven't improved significantly in the softness area. I will say that the sheets are very durable though, they have held up longer than other sheets we have purchased. A note on the black sheet which we found to be a bit of an annoyance, the sheet tends to pick up dust and lint really easily and it shows up really clearly against the solid black background. So, if you're planning on using these sheets for a guest room you may have to lint roll or wash them the night before guests arrive. On the whole, we are satisfied with the product, just not thrilled.

I love these sheets. Love them. They are soft, warm and fit my bed perfectly. The color is fantastic and deep. black as black could be. Would not even think of giving them less then 5 stars.
