Printed with a rich floral and paisley pattern in soft, cool colors, Pinzon's duvet and sham set brings a calming beauty to the bedroom for everyday use or special occasions. Blues and neutrals unite on white fabric, expertly woven in Portugal from 100 percent cotton in single-ply yarns. The smooth fabric is crisp and clean out of the package and softens with each wash. Duvets include a hidden button closure for securing a comforter and shams have an envelope closure on one end for easy pillow insertion or removal. The Full/Queen set includes a duvet measuring 89 by 89 inches and two Standard shams measuring 21 by 28 inches. Good build quality but design is not my cup of tea
The paisley design didn't look too bad online but in person the pattern is a little too generic looking, like cheap drapes. First thing I did was wash it because we wash all of our bedding before first use (you never know what's floating around in those factories that you may ultimately end up sleeping with). The set didn't fade or shrink in any noticeable way after washing, cool drying and air drying the remainder of the way. The set isn't very thick like some of our other duvet/sham sets. Ironically, the closest comparison is another Pinzon set we own, made of Egyptian cotton. It has similar thickness to that set although the Egyptian Cotton set is noticeably much softer. The cotton in this set feels a little coarser although, it's a double-edge sword due to the fact that it feels much more sturdier than the Egyptian cotton set. This review pertains to the "Paisley" color style (and not the "Stripe" style). While some paisley patterns and colors are more lively with more contrasting colors, the colors and patterns used on this duvet cover (which measures exactly 89"x89" square) and the two shams are more subdued and soft. Depending upon your display monitor's coloration, the three images currently displayed for this Amazon product for the "Paisley" pattern may (at the time of this review's writing) show mainly light blues and white. Quality bedding
The quality of this set is excellent. The fabric is sturdy and so is the stitching; the corners are perfectly finished. It also washes well.
I have the stripes, a pattern that is suitable for anyone and any décor, from master bedroom to child's room, boy or girl. It will appeal to the man or boy who doesn't want any hint of "girly" in bedding, but it's also pretty enough for the girls. Other than the blue stripe, there are only neutral colors-white and gray-and the blue is soft enough to work as a neutral.
Those are the pros and I don't see any cons, so I highly recommend it.
